How Slack connects

A Slack app installs into your workspace and reads the channels you grant it, including the channels you share with a client. New messages arrive in the shared inbox from that moment.

Slack carries client work in shared channels. Those channels arrive in the same inbox as WhatsApp, and CommunicationOS keeps its own copy of each message it receives, so the archive is yours to search and export.

What the models do on Slack

Search, summaries and spam filtering are available where listed for this channel. The parts that only matter on Slack are turned on here.

Shared channels in context

A channel shared with a client sits beside the WhatsApp thread with the same customer.

File indexing

Text comes out of the documents your team uploads and into the search index.

Thread summaries

A long engineering thread becomes a status brief with the action items listed.

Spam shield, thread summaries and search run on every plan. Commitment tracking, follow-up watch and translation start on Team and cover each connected account, including this one.

History and export

Connecting an account brings new messages in from that moment. If the network provides an account archive you can request, upload the file and those earlier conversations join the same index. Each message CommunicationOS receives is written to your own archive, where it stays searchable for the life of the account.

Export formats

JSONMBOXHTMLCSVPDF

Plus the original media beside them.

Slack history you can take with you

The archive is indexed for the life of the account, from 1 GB on Starter to 1 TB on Scale. A single export runs to 1 GB on Starter and Team and 25 GB on Scale, and Enterprise export limits are set in the order form. Read and export access stays open for 30 days after cancellation.

Ask us directly

Can we archive the Slack channels we share with a client?

Yes. Once the app sits in your workspace, messages in a shared channel index into your archive the same way an internal room does.

Do we get our own copy of each message?

Yes. Each message the app receives is written to your own archive, and it stays searchable there for the life of the account.

Are multi-reply threads kept in order?

Yes. Replies stay nested under their parent message, so the discussion reads the way it happened.
